Whitesnake – Greatest Hits 2xCD
David Coverdale fundó Whitesnake a finales de 1977 en North Yorkshire, Inglaterra. El núcleo de su banda estaba formado por músicos de una formación de acompañamiento llamada The White Snake Band.
La banda fue formada oficialmente en enero de 1978 por David Coverdale, antiguo vocalista de Deep Purple. Debido a que David Coverdale estaba vinculado por un contrato que le prohibía participar en bandas, se vio obligado, desde la disolución de Deep Purple, a publicar discos en solitario con un acompañante, los llamados David Coverdale’s Whitesnake. Con él publicó dos álbumes, White Snake (1977) y Northwinds (1978), producidos por el tristemente célebre Roger Glover.
